The Canadian-Chinese pianist Bruce Liu is 26 years young, and the fact that he is making his debut at the Tonhalle Zürich with Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 1 is no coincidence: on the one hand, he was born in Chopin's adopted home of Paris. And on the other hand, he won first prize at the 2021 International Chopin Competition in Warsaw with precisely this concerto.
