Vivaldi – Handel – Beethoven. They are all important pillars of music history and Vivaldi and Handel put the organ centre stage with concerts. The International Organ Festival in Zurich is also dedicated to the organ. At the festive matinee at Whitsun, the mighty Kuhn organ will be heard in a chamber music context in the Grosse Tonhalle. The chamber music atmosphere is rounded off by one of Ludwig van Beethoven's most popular chamber music works: his Septet in E flat major op. 20, which his audience could hardly wait for. Beethoven himself is said to have urged his publisher to hurry: "My septet is being sent out into the world a little faster - because the mob is waiting for it". This work for strings and winds is still able to inspire today.
