Mozart was 32 years old when he wrote his last symphony, the "Jupiter" Symphony. Herbert Blomstedt is now almost three times that age – and still exudes an almost youthful joy in music on the podium. In addition to the "Jupiter" Symphony, he takes on Mozart's "Linz" Symphony. It was written in just a few days when Mozart was asked to give a concert during a stopover in Linz on his journey from Salzburg to Vienna: "And because I don't have a single symphony with me, I'm writing a new one over my head."
