You love classical music. And you would like to experience us in your living room? You will soon be able to enjoy some of our concerts led by Music Director Paavo Järvi on the new streaming platform Symphony.live. Here you will find not only us, but also many other exceptional orchestras from all over the world. Symphony.live brings together orchestras such as the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra, The Cleveland Orchestra, Budapest Festival Orchestra, Czech Philharmonic, Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra and Orchestre symphonique de Montréal. All the great conductors and soloists of our time can be found on Symphony.live in current and historic concert recordings.

«It is great to see such a high-profile joint project emerging in the orchestral world. The Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich is excited about the idea of building a joint platform,» says Music Director Paavo Järvi, who conducts all concert programmes with his ensemble for Symphony.live. «The cooperation with the streaming service Symphony.live, which focuses exclusively on top orchestras, is a logical extension of our digital offering – for our Zurich and worldwide audiences,» says Artistic Director Ilona Schmiel.

Symphony Night Premieres

Mozart and R. Strauss

On Saturday, 9 December 9 2023, our fourth concert will be streamed live on Symphony.live. The program included Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 23 in A major and Richard Strauss' "Eine Alpensinfonie", two audience favourites conducted by our Music Director. The guest was pianist and Mozart specialist Fazıl Say, whom we had the pleasure of welcoming several times as a focus artist in the 2022/23 season. The program and the protagonists on stage delighted our audience: all three concerts at the end of March 2023 were sold out. Link

Brahms and Berlioz

On Saturday, 2 September 2023, our guest performance at the Musikverein Vienna was streamed for the third time. In the Golden Hall, the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich conducted by Music Director Paavo Järvi performed Johannes Brahms' Piano Quartet No. 1 in G minor op. 25 in the orchestration by Arnold Schoenberg. Violist Antoine Tamestit was the soloist in Hector Berlioz' "Harold en Italie". Link
