Thomas Søndergård takes over for David Zinman
The Dane Thomas Søndergård replaces our honorary conductor.
Unfortunately, our Honorary Conductor David Zinman has to cancel the planned concerts on 15 and 16 November 2023. For health reasons, he is unable to make the trip to Zurich. He very much regrets this.
We are very pleased that we have been able to win Thomas Søndergård, a very experienced conductor, for the programme which remains unchanged. It is the first time that he will conduct the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich.
Thomas Søndergård has been music director of the Minnesota Orchestra since the beginning of the season. The 54-year-old Dane is also music director of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra.
Tickets already purchased for the concerts remain valid.
