A Start with 6 Million Views

The social media platform TikTok is a video app that is growing rapidly and is particularly popular with younger generations. More and more symphony orchestras can also be found on it - now also the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich. Our goal: to bring classical music closer to a young audience.

We were greeted with enthusiasm on the platform: a concert excerpt of the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich with its music director Paavo Järvi has been viewed 6 million times since the clip was posted on the orchestra's new TikTok account ten days ago. 482,000 people have «liked» the video of Carl Orff's «Carmina Burana» and there are 5,600 comments under the video. No other classical orchestra has reached such numbers on TikTok so far.
